New Passport

Warning! If you have already applied for a passport using the Post Office or the U.S. Government, we will not be able to assist you in expediting your process. Please contact 1-877-487-2778 or click here for assistant on the status of your application.

You are eligible to apply for a NEW passport if you:

  • Are a first time applicant, & has never applied for one, or
  • Have a FIVE YEAR book that has expired, or
  • Have a TEN YEAR book that has expired more than 5 years, or
  • Were less than 16 yrs old when the passport was issued, or
  • You have your recent passport.

[PLEASE NOTE] Once you have downloaded all the required forms & have filled them out, you must make a appointment with an Acceptance Agent at your local Post Office or Courthouse to have your application witnessed & sealed into an envelope before sending the envelope to TL Travel for expediting. (This step is required for first time applicants and/or children applicants only.)

**IMPORTANT:  If you are needing to have your passport expedited for Express or Rush processing, you must call us first to reserve your processing spot since we are limited to the amount of rushes we can submit a day.

STEP 1 – FILL OUT A DS-11 FORM

You can pick up this application (DS-11 form) from your local Post Office or Court House or you can download it here.

**NOTE: DO NOT sign the application until you are asked to do so by the Acceptance Agent at the Post Office/Courthouse.

STEP 2 – PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP

You must submit an ORIGINAL birth certifcate, which will be returned to you once the process of your passport is finished.

STEP 3 - SECOND FORM OF I.D.

You will need to make a copy of your Driver's License/State issued I.D. for a second form of identification. This I.D. should be 6 months or older. If you can not provide a driver's license that is 6 months or older, please contact us and we will be able to give you further information on what you can provide as supplemental i.d.'s.

STEP 4 - PHOTOS

You will need two 2 x 2 passport photos.

Passport photos are available at most FedEx/Kinkos or Walgreens/CVS locations.
Please note: acceptable passport photos are:

• Photographs must be 2 x 2 inches in size, taken within the past 6 months.
• The image size from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head should be between 1 inch and 1 3/8 inches.
• The photographs must be in color.
• They must be full face, front view with a plain white or off-white background.
• Photographs should be taken without a hat or headgear that obscures the hair or hairline.
• Dark glasses or nonprescription glasses with tinted lenses are not acceptable unless required for medical reasons.
• Home made Digital photographs are not acceptable.

STEP 5 – PROOF of DEPARTURE

This is required ONLY if you wish to expedite your new passport processing by using Express or Rush processing, you must provide an itinerary or airline ticket showing your departure date departing 5 days from the day of your application.

  • A copy of your flight itinerary/airline ticket.

STEP 6 – LETTER OF AUTHORIZATION

Please print and sign TWO Letters of Authorization, which will allow TL Travel to expedite your new passport on your behalf.

**Applicant’s signature MUST match the signature of their passport, and HAS to be original. No copies or faxed Letter of Authorization will be accepted.

**DO NOT seal these letters of authorization into the envelope at the post office/courthouse.

STEP 7 – ORDER FORM

Please fill out our order form before returning your documents to TL Travel.

STEP 8 – FEE & PAYMENTS

You must provide ALL of the following Payments:

For the Post Office/Court House (ACCEPTANCE AGENT):
- $25 check/money order for each Applicant. (You should wait until you get to the Courthouse or Post Office before you make out this check.)

In the sealed Envelope:
- $135 check/money order payable to the “U.S. Department of State”.
*Write applicant's full name and date of birth on the check or money order.
*All personal checks must show a printed address.
*Do not cross out and rewrite any information on the check.
*Temporary or starter checks are not acceptable.

STEP 9 - TAKE #1 - #8 to a LOCAL POST OFFICE/COURTHOUSE

**NOTE: All first time, new applicants, and applicants who are filing for a Lost/Stolen/Damaged passport needs to have their applications authorized by a local government official called an Acceptance Agent (AA). Bring all of the documents listed above to a Passport Acceptance Facility and notify the agent that you are using an expediting service to "hand carry" your application. As stated, please present all of the listed items below to the Acceptance Agent for approval. You will then sign the passport application form in the presence of the Acceptance Agent who will witness your signature and select the following items from the above list to place in an envelope and seal.

Please have a valid Driver’s License or a proof of I.D. available to show the Acceptance Agent.

Ask the Agent to endorse the documents and SEAL the following items in an envelope:

- Proof of Citizenship;
- second form of identification;
- Application (Signed in front of the Agent);
- two 2 x 2 photos; AND
- the Payment to the U.S. Department of State.

There should be SEPARATELY SEALED ENVELOPES provided by the Acceptance Agent for EACH applicant.

**IMPORTANT: Do not open or tamper with this sealed envelope or the application will be invalid. Make sure the agent returns the sealed envelope to you. If the agent does not feel at ease about releasing the envelope, suggest that he/she refer to page 31 or 44 of their Passport Agent's Manual, "Hand-carrying of Executed Applications".

**Please DO NOT seal the payment to TL Travel and the Letters of Authorization inside the sealed envelope(s) from the post office or we will be unable to process your Passport.

**NOTE: If you are also applying for Visas through us, all the requirements for Visa(s) must be left outside the sealed envelope.

STEP 9 - SHIPMENT
